The Wisconsin Bankers Foundation has awarded four University of Wisconsin System students — Srikar Kalapala, Ashton Kapla, Morgan Nelson, and Sonia Stafeil — with the 2023 Spring Scholarship.
Each year, the Foundation awards four $2,000 scholarships to graduating high school seniors, current college students, or adults pursuing higher education at an accredited Wisconsin college, university, or technical college. Recipients are chosen based on their academic achievements, community involvement, career goals, and financial literacy.
Srikar Kalapala recently graduated from Hamilton High School in Sussex, Wis. As an incoming first-year student at UW-Madison, Kalapala plans to pursue a degree in finance.
Ashton Kapla recently completed his associate degree in accounting at Northeast Wisconsin Technical College. As an incoming junior at UW-Green Bay, Kapla plans to study accounting and education. Kapla is currently employed as a teller at Premier Community Bank in Pulaski, Wis.
Morgan Nelson recently completed her bachelor’s degree in computer science at UW-Eau Claire. As an incoming master’s student at UW-Madison, Nelson plans to further her study in computer science. Nelson in currently employed as a programming assistant at Horicon Bank in Beaver Dam, Wis.
Sonia Stafeil recently graduated from Kettle Moraine High School in Wales, Wis. As an incoming first-year student at UW-Madison, Stafeil plans to study accounting and finance. Stafeil is currently employed as a part-time teller at Waukesha State Bank in Oconomowoc, Wis.
“The Wisconsin Bankers Foundation is honored to recognize Srikar, Ashton, Morgan, and Sonia with our annual Spring Scholarship,” said Foundation Chair Rose Oswald Poels. “Their keen understanding of the importance of financial literacy will benefit each of them for years to come. We wish all four students the very best in their future endeavors.”
